Water: Yayasan Amal Selangor Builds 'Tube Well', Help Residents Having Water Outage

SHAH ALAM, 2 Mar: The Yayasan Amal Selangor has taken the initiative to help residents in several areas affected badly by the water outage in the state by building 'tube wells' to obtain groundwater.

Its Chairman, Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, said that they previously built a tube well in Olak Lemput in Hulu Langat to help the community obtain water.

The area is among the several areas in Selangor badly affected by the closure of the Cheras Batu 11 and Bukit Tampoi Water Treatment Plants (WTP), following the ammonia contamination in Sungai Langat.

"We will build a tube well in Balakong, an area which we think is dense in population.

"This is among the moves by Yayasan Amal Selangor which can be done to help the people a little in this issue," he said, quoted from Harakah Daily.

The water issue has hit many states in Malaysia due to the dry weather and the lack of rain since two months ago.

This dry situation is expected to last until the end of March. Several states have implemented water rationing to face this problem.
