SHAH ALAM, 2 Mar: The Selangor Government's move to give their commitment to expand the granting of free water to the people of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya is welcomed and praised.
The PAS Land and City Committee Chairman, Ahmad Zamri Asa'ad Khuzaimi, said that it will benefit city dwellers who are currently pressured by the high cost of living in the city.
He said that the opportunity is brighter when the Selangor Government signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government, allowing Selangor to take over four water concessionaires in the state.
“If it (the granting of free water) happen, Tan Sri Khalid will achieve yet another achievement by ensuring that the residents in KL also enjoy the same facilities as the people of Selangor.
“Actually, the people of KL need facilities such as this to reduce their burden, especially with the increase in cost of living," he said in a statement.
In the meantime, he also praised the move by the Selangor Government of finally finding a solution to the water issue that seemed never-ending by acquiring the water concessionaires through the MoU with the Federal Government.
"In my opinion, it is time the (federal) government places the interest of the people before the interests of the party and political difference.
“With this, all the people can benefit if the country's leaders can work together and sit at the same table to solve the people's problems," he said.
