SHAH ALAM, 28 Jan: The Election Commission (EC) will hold a special meeting to discuss matters related to the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat on 5 February.
The EC Secretary, Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh, said in a statement today that the EC received official notification from the Speaker of the Selangor State Assembly at 12.05pm regarding the resignation of the Assemblyman for Kajang, Lee Chin Cheh.
The special meeting will be held at the EC Headquarters in Putrajaya, followed by a press conference by the EC Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof.
During the 13th General Election held on 13 May, Lee won the seat with a 6,824 majority vote in a six-corner clash between Bn, BERJASA and three independent candidates.
