KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — Both carriageways of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) between Setia Alam and Shah Alam, from Km9.1 to Km9.4, have been closed to all vehicles due to flash floods caused by heavy rain at 6.20pm today.
PLUS Malaysia Bhd said that as an immediate safety measure, southbound vehicles from Subang are being diverted via the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE).
“Meanwhile, northbound vehicles from Bukit Raja are being diverted off the NKVE at the Setia Alam Interchange,” it said in a statement today.
PLUS advised highway users to refer to its X account @PLUSTrafik, the PLUS app, Variable Message Signs (VMS), and virtual assistant PUTRI for weather and flood updates as well as alternative routes.
It also advised motorists not to drive through floodwaters, as water that appears shallow could still be dangerous.
“Please comply with all temporary signage and instructions given by our personnel at the location,” PLUS said.
For assistance, highway users can contact the PLUSLine at 1-800-88-0000, use the SOS button on the PLUS app or interact with PLUS’ virtual assistant PUTRI.
