SHAH ALAM, Sept 21 — The monthly household income eligibility limit for the Kita Selangor Voucher has been raised to RM8,000 or below.
The scheme is expanded to allow more households to benefit from the initiative when compared to the previous condition limiting to families with monthly income of up to RM5,000.
State executive councillor for women empowerment and social welfare Anfaal Saari said eligible recipients will receive vouchers worth RM600 for the purchase of food, medical, and educational necessities.
"The monthly household income limit for the Kita Selangor Voucher has now been raised to RM8,000 and below, compared to the previous RM5,000.
"These RM600 vouchers can be used to purchase food, medical supplies, and educational items," she said.
Anfaal added that the voucher will be distributed in phases until December this year.
Applicants must meet seven eligibility criteria, including being a Malaysian citizen, having a monthly household income of RM8,000 or below, and a registered voter in Selangor.
"Applicants must also reside in Selangor and have a residential address in the state, with eligibility limited to one recipient per household.
"Additionally, neither the applicant nor their spouse may be an active recipient of the Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor," she said.
Applicants must have at least one child aged 18 or younger; this includes single mothers or fathers who are single due to divorce or the death of a spouse.
"Families must have at least one child aged 18 or younger; this includes single mothers or fathers who are divorced or widowed.
"The public can check their eligibility via the official ‘Baucar Kita Selangor' portal," Anfaal said.
The state government has allocated RM355.06 million through Phases One and Two of the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package (SREP) to address the impact of supply-related crises stemming from the West Asia conflict.
Of this total, RM145.8 million was allocated for Phase One which is currently being implemented through seven initiatives. RM209.26 million was channeled to Phase Two, which comprises 15 new initiatives.
The Kita Selangor Voucher is one of the initiatives under the SREP, with a RM131 million allocation aimed at helping the people cope with the economic uncertainty resulting from the geopolitical crisis in West Asia.
