SHAH ALAM, Sept 13 – A total of 50 motorcycles were seized and 116 summonses issued during a joint operation to crack down on road hooliganism at the Bukit Raja Toll Plaza on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) early this morning.
Selangor police said the Operasi Tutup Samseng Jalanan involved the Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) alongside the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK).
A total of 146 individuals aged between 16 and 25, as well as 141 motorcycles, were inspected during the operation.
"As a result of the operation, 116 summonses were issued for various traffic offenses; 92 by the Selangor police headquarters (IPK) JSPT and another 24 by the Bukit Aman JSPT," the statement read.
During the same operation, the AADK also conducted 22 random urine screening tests involving 17 men and five women.
However, no individuals tested positive for drugs or were detained following the screenings.
The joint operation involved five senior officers and 16 lower-ranking officers from the Selangor IPK JSPT, in addition to 30 JPJ personnel and eight AADK personnel.
