MBDK seizes four stalls in Jalan Meru market operation

SHAH ALAM, Sept 16 – The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) seized four business lots during an enforcement operation targeting businesses operated by foreigners at Kompleks Pasar Besar Jalan Meru.

MBDK stated the operation was carried out by MBDK’s Public Markets Division under the Health Department, covering Blocks A, B, C and D of the market complex.

“Four seizures were made under Rule 15(a) of the Markets (MPK) 2007 by-laws because business activities were being conducted by foreigners.

“One compound was issued under Rule 8(1) of the Markets (MPK) 2007 by-laws for failing to display a business licence,” it stated in a Facebook post.

Apart from enforcement action, MBDK also reminded traders to operate only from authorised business lots, avoid obstructing public areas and ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of their business premises are maintained.

The council also said that business lots without a local Malaysian person present to oversee the premises were also instructed to close.

“MBDK will continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement to ensure business activities at the market complex are carried out in an orderly, licensed and clean manner and comply with the regulations set,” it said.
