SHAH ALAM, Sept 14 — Local authorities have stepped up enforcement against foreign traders and roadside hawkers in Rawang and Gombak for breaching municipal regulations.
In a statement, the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) said goods belonging to a foreign trader were seized at Selayang Wholesale Market during an enforcement operation.
MPS said the action was taken under the Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries By-Laws 2007.
In a separate operation in Rawang, enforcement officers also seized items from several foreign traders selling flower garlands.
The seizure was carried out under the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974, while two unlicensed dogs were also impounded during the operation.
The local authority also issued one compound and two notices to roadside hawkers found obstructing public areas in Taman Sri Gombak.
The operation also resulted in 15 inventory seizures.
“The action was taken to address obstruction and ensure orderliness in public areas.
“All trading activities must comply with regulations to avoid enforcement action,” it said.
