SHAH ALAM, Sept 12 — The RM90 million investment by Mondelēz Malaysia through its new Crumb Tower at its manufacturing plant here is set to boost its production capacity to fulfil the Malaysian and Southeast Asian markets’ needs, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“Cadbury is a brand that is close to the Malaysian people and its products have been manufactured in Shah Alam since 1974, reflecting Mondelēz Malaysia’s long-term presence and its continued confidence in Selangor as a strategic investment destination,” he said in a Facebook post about the important achievement after launching the new Crumb Tower at the Mondelēz headquarters here.

He added that the facility, equipped with modern technology and higher automation levels, would improve production capacity and support around 250 local workers, and generate more opportunities for businesses along the supply chain.

“As technology and artificial intelligence continues to change the working world, we must ensure the people are equipped with skills needed for the future.

“Selangor must keep focusing on producing high-quality products, improving productivity, and moving towards higher-value industries,” Amirudin said.

He added that the state government, through Invest Selangor Bhd and local authorities, will keep facilitating investment methods and providing environments conducive for businesses to start, grow and reinforce their operations.

“Congratulations, Mondelēz Malaysia! We hope to welcome more investments that generate quality jobs and bring long-term benefits to Selangoreans,” Amirudin said.
