SHAH ALAM, Nov 1 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has offered prayers for the recovery and good health of His Royal Highness (DYMM) the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
He conveyed these prayers on behalf of all the people of Selangor.“I, along with all the subjects, pray that His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor be granted recovery and good health.“May His Royal Highness be blessed with *’afiyah* (overall well-being),” he said via Facebook on October 31.
Earlier, the Selangor Royal Office announced on Facebook that Sultan Sharafuddin has been unwell since yesterday after contracting the Influenza A virus.
His personal physician reported that symptoms were first detected yesterday morning, when His Royal Highness developed a high fever and physical weakness.
According to the physician’s assessment, His Royal Highness likely contracted the virus while attending public events and interacting with the public, including in open-air settings.
Consequently, the physician has advised His Royal Highness to rest and refrain from attending any functions for five to seven days to ensure a full recovery.
Following this development regarding his health, the *Istiadat Menjunjung Duli* (Ceremony of Paying Homage) and the *Istiadat Pengurniaan Darjah Kebesaran Negeri Selangor* (Investiture Ceremony for Selangor State Awards), held in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of the Sultan of Selangor’s reign and originally scheduled for tomorrow, have been postponed.
Both ceremonies, which were scheduled for today, November 1, have been rescheduled for Saturday, November 7.
