MBSA issues 69 notices for unauthorised construction at Kg Budiman

SHAH ALAM, Aug 2 – The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has issued 69 notices against construction without approval in three lots linked to the issue of illegal settlement in Kampung Budiman, near Memorial Park Bliss Garden, Jalan Hamzah, Section U14, on Friday.

In a statement posted on Facebook, MBSA announced that the notices were issued during an integrated operation which involved the council’s Building and Enforcement Department, Corporate and Public Relations Department and the Selangor Immigration Department.

“A total of 69 notices were issued under Section 72(6), Roads, Drains and Buildings Act 1974 (Act 133) against Lot 4062.

“As for Lot 4063, the structure was demolished by the landowner after complying with MBSA’s instructions, while follow-up action on Lot 4064 will be taken in accordance with the provisions of the law in force,” the statement said.

MBSA said enforcement action would continue to be stepped up against any unauthorised development to ensure compliance with the law, in addition to maintaining the safety, order and well-being of the city.

Previously, Menteri Besar Selangor Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari ordered MBSA to take immediate action on the issue of illegal settlements in Kampung Budiman, Setia Alam, including demolishing the structures involved if they were found to be encroaching on government land.

Amirudin said the action must be implemented in accordance with the decision of the Selangor State Security Working Committee Meeting.

Shah Alam Mayor Dato’ Zabidah Zainal informed that the illegal structures in the area involved Lot 4062, Lot 4063 and Lot 4064.

In a related development, the Immigration Department announced that it is conducting an investigation into allegations of the existence of illegal foreign settlements in the area.

Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said that an integrated operation with relevant agencies would be carried out if the investigation found the allegations to be true.
