SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), in partnership with KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) has sent 15 three-tonne roll-on, roll-off (roro) bins to Kampung Melayu Subang to facilitate post-flood cleanups.
“MBSA has also provided three units of roving roro bins in Desa Subang Perantau, Jalan Ikhlas, to allow residents to dispose of their waste and facilitate post-flood cleanups in the area.
“From the three units of roving roro bins, one has a 10-tonne capacity while the other two have a three-tonne capacity,” it said in a Facebook post.
MBSA has also sent waste bins to the Dewan Siantan, Dewan Resak and Dewan Seri Pagi temporary relief centres to ensure the orderly disposal of solid waste.
The council said cleanups will continue with agencies concerned so flood-affected areas may be restored as soon as possible.
Yesterday, MBSA sent roro bins to Kampung Melayu Subang and Taman Setia Warisan to aid post-flood cleanup.
On Monday, a flash flood hit Kampung Melayu Subang after 116.5mm of rain fell in about an hour—the equivalent of three days’ worth—causing a river to overflow into nearby neighbourhoods.
The flood affected 92 homes on four roads: Lorong Merbau (30 houses), Jalan Cengal (seven), Jalan Resak (five), and Jalan Jati (50).
