SHAH ALAM, July 31 — A four-lane road currently being developed in Taman Kinrara, Puchong, Selangor, to improve safety by keeping traffic away from a narrow internal road, says Ng Sze Han.
The state investment, trade and mobility committee chairman said the project was about 15% complete, with site clearing work underway.
According to The Star, the RM2.4mil project for the 550m road will connect Jalan TK4/5, Jalan TK5/1 and Jalan TK 5/32a, creating a new main route between Sections 4 and 5.
Ng who is also the Kinrara assemblyman said the existing road, Jalan TK 5/32a, was intended to be a residential road but has become a main route between the two sections.
He elaborated that the narrow two-way road was mostly affected by motorists who parked or double parked by the roadside, leaving limited space for moving vehicles.
“Smart Selangor and Rapid KL buses also use the road,” he said during a site visit.
Ng added that Jalan TK5/32a would be converted into a one-way road, with its entry and exit points reorganised to improve traffic flow.
“This is good news for Taman Kinrara residents, particularly those in Sections 4 and 5, as it will connect the two areas. The new road will also improve traffic safety in the area,” he said.
The project will include pedestrian walkways, a raised speed table and LED street lights.
Traffic lights will also be installed at the Jalan TK5/1 junction to improve safety.
Ng said existing bus stops near the junction would be relocated to both sides of the new road about 50m away.
The construction which started in May and is scheduled to be completed by middle of 2027.
