SHAH ALAM, July 28 — A meeting will be arranged with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to raise concerns over the proposed Bandar Madani Bukit Jalil development following a formal objection submitted by resident associations in Bandar Kinrara.
Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han said the meeting would highlight concerns raised by residents of Bandar Kinrara and Puncak Jalil over the proposed project, which is currently undergoing a Social Impact Assessment (SIA).
“Engaged with the Residents’ Associations of Bandar Kinrara following their submission of formal objection to the proposed Bandar Madani Bukit Jalil development to my office.
“The project is currently at the SIA stage, which provides residents and stakeholders with the legal opportunity to voice their concerns and submit objections,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Following the formal submission to object to the development, Ng who is also the state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility, said he will be meeting with DBKL.
“I will be arranging for a meeting with DBKL to raise the concerns of the residents of Bandar Kinrara and Puncak Jalil.
“Development must be responsible, sustainable, and always put the interests of existing communities first,” he said.
With 17,000 housing units planned, the proposed development has become a major concern for residents of Bandar Kinrara and Puncak Jalil, as Ng said the access for the neighbourhoods is already limited.
“Traffic congestion is a daily reality, with Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil as well as the LDP (Damansara-Puchong Expressway) and KESAS highways already heavily congested.
“The addition of tens of thousands of new residents, without adequate upgrade to existing infrastructure, is likely to place immense pressure on road networks, public facilities, and essential services.
“These concerns must be addressed through proper planning and comprehensive impact assessments before any development proceeds,” he said.
