SHAH ALAM, July 3 — The state government is continuing its efforts to assist workers affected by economic uncertainty and the global geopolitical crisis by organising Mega JobCare Selangor.
State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman said the programme forms part of the initiatives under the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package's (SREP) Phase Two, introduced last month.
Mega JobCare not only provides employment opportunities for those who have lost their occupations due to the West Asian conflict, but also serves as a platform to match employers with job seekers.
“We are organising Mega JobCare as one of our efforts to help those affected, particularly individuals who have lost their jobs as a result of global economic uncertainty and changes in the industrial landscape.

“Students are also encouraged to attend so they can gain first-hand insight into current industry requirements, enabling them to make more informed decisions when planning their studies or future careers,” he said at his office in the State Secretariat Building yesterday.
Papparaidu added that the programme will be held at SACC Mall, Shah Alam, from August 8 to August 9, with 100 employers participating and offering a wide range of vacancies across various sectors. The event is expected to attract 10,000 visitors.
The job fair is also expected to enhance visitors' understanding of career opportunities and the skills required in today's job market.
On June 19, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari announced a RM1.5 million allocation for the Selangor Career Programme, which prioritises workers who have lost their jobs this year.
Implemented in collaboration with the Social Security Organisation and companies in the retail, manufacturing, and logistics sectors, it aims to engage 30,000 job seekers across Selangor this year.
