SHAH ALAM, June 22 — Selangoreans may check the Kita Selangor online portal from 12pm tomorrow to see if they will receive RM100 Kita Selangor vouchers, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He added that single mothers earning RM5,000 or below may apply on the same portal to receive these vouchers.
“The state government is also continuing the Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (BINGKAS) programme that channels RM300 a month to RM30,000 families as aid so they don’t fall into poverty.
“Overall, the state government has allocated RM138 million as direct aid for the people so any risk of rising living costs don’t bring about drastic effects to the people,” he told a press conference at the State Secretariat Building lobby here today.
Amirudin said this is short-term aid to empower the people, and ensure recipients don’t depend on this assistance long term.
He added that upskilling initiatives such as the Selangor Career Programme will be implemented for aid recipients.
Previously, Amirudin said the RM100 Kita Selangor vouchers would be distributed to 50,000 recipients from June 30 for six months.
Recipients are chosen based on data from the state’s Implementation Coordination Unit to ensure aid is channelled to groups that truly need it.
The RM100 Kita Selangor vouchers are among initiatives under the RM131 million Phase 1 of the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package (SREP), aimed at helping the people face economic uncertainties due to the West Asia conflict.
