SHAH ALAM, June 16 — Eligible recipients of the RM100 Kita Selangor Voucher assistance will receive SMS notifications in phases beginning June 23, the Selangor State Secretary's Office said today.
Its Corporate Division said the initiative is not yet open for applications and urged the public to wait for an official announcement by the state government on June 22 before taking any action.
"Eligible recipients will receive SMS notifications in stages beginning June 23 to enable them to verify their information and submit applications through the Kita Selangor Voucher portal, together with the required supporting documents.
"The state government also reminds the public to remain vigilant against SMS messages or communications containing suspicious links and not to click on links received from unauthorised sources to avoid falling victim to online scams," it said in a statement.
According to the statement, the programme will be implemented in a targeted manner for recipients identified through data provided by relevant agencies.
The identified groups include low-income households listed in the eKasih database, laid-off workers, vulnerable individuals registered with the Social Welfare Department (JKM), and single mothers who meet the established eligibility criteria.
On April 16, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari announced the Kita Selangor Voucher initiative, which provides RM100 a month for six months to 50,000 state residents to help ease the cost of living.
The initiative forms part of the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package, which carries an allocation of RM131 million and was introduced to address the economic impact of the ongoing geopolitical crisis in West Asia.
Yesterday, Amirudin said the vouchers would be distributed from June 30, with the state government set to review the list of applications on June 22 and 23 before finalising the recipients.
