SHAH ALAM, June 11 — The Selangor government has stressed that the issue of unauthorised multi-storey residences built in Kampung Baru Sungai Makau in the sub-district of Ulu Langat, which recently went viral on social media, is not new and has been subject to various enforcement processes since 2016.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said various measures had been undertaken by government agencies, including the issuance of warning notices, compounds, integrated operations, investigations and enforcement actions in accordance with existing laws.
He said the actions involved several agencies, including the Hulu Langat District and Land Office (PDT), Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj), Selangor Water Management Authority (LUAS), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Immigration Department, as well as demolition operations against structures built without approval.
"For your information, action and enforcement against structures built without permission in the area are not new matters.
"Various actions have been taken by government agencies since 2016, including the issuance of warning notices, compounds, integrated operations, investigations, enforcement actions by PDT Hulu Langat, MPKj, LUAS, PDRM and the Immigration Department, as well as demolition works," he said in a Facebook post today.

The statement followed an official clarification by PDT Hulu Langat regarding the multi-storey residences, which have attracted public attention in recent days.
Amirudin said the state government would continue to monitor developments and take appropriate action in accordance with existing laws.
"The state government stresses that it will continue to monitor the current situation and take appropriate action based on existing laws," he said.
At the same time, he reminded the public to obtain information from official sources and not to be easily influenced by inaccurate or misleading information circulating on social media.
