SHAH ALAM, May 28 — The Bukit Lanjan state constituency's suraus received 10 cattle and eight goats in contributions for this year’s Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
Its state assemblyman Pua Pei Ling said the contribution from the state government is intended to support the korban ritual while also benefiting the local community.
She had the opportunity to visit several suraus in the area to personally observe the korban activities, which were carried out in a spirit of cooperation and strong community bonds.
“I had the chance to stop by several suraus around the Bukit Lanjan constituency to personally witness the korban activities filled with the spirit of mutual cooperation, sincerity, and community ukhuwah,” Pua said in a Facebook post.
Among the houses of worship visited were Surau Al Asliyah KOA in Desa Temuan, Surau Nurhidayah Apartment Harmoni, Surau Al Firdaus Saujana Damansara, Surau Al Ikhwan Aman Puri, and Surau At-Taqwa Usaha Jaya.
The representative also visited Surau Al Ihsan Taman Ehsan, Surau Kebajikan Selayang Utama, Surau An Nuur Pelangi Damansara, and Surau Flora Damansara.
Pua conveyed her Aidiladha greetings to all Muslims and hopes that the celebration will bring blessings, peace and well-being to everyone.
The state government has allocated RM6 million to implement this year’s Korban Contribution Programme through corporate social responsibility involving corporate companies and government-linked companies.
State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato' Izham Hashim said that 800 cattle and 600 goats have been prepared, with a commitment to high-quality livestock to ensure the distribution process runs smoothly and delivers optimal benefits to recipients.
