PETALING JAYA, May 5 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, strategic partners will commit RM4.5 million to upgrade public infrastructure, said Yayasan MBI head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor.
He said the repair and maintenance project involves the Petaling district and is parked under the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor (GRS) 2.0 tour, which kicked off today.
He added that the foundation has initiated partnerships with several corporate firms operating in the state to gain support in ensuring residents’ safety.
“Under this year’s budget, the state government allocated RM4.5 million to make GRS 2.0 a success, so MBI will add another RM4.5 million in the form of matching grants financed by strategic partners.
“They will be involved in the (GRS 2.0) adoptive projects, especially those involving public facilities that were chosen by the Raja Muda of Selangor (Tengku Amir Shah). Together, these companies will help fulfil the people’s needs,” Azri said when met at the GRS 2.0 event here today.

Azri said MBI will help participating firms with tax exemptions, seeing as their noble efforts are in aid of the people.
Earlier, Tengku Amir Shah and Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz visited Denai Hijau @ Lengkok Golf SS7 in Kelana Jaya for a GRS 2.0 event there.
Meanwhile, state executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail said GRS 2.0 will continue in Hulu Langat for two days next week, followed by events in Sabak Bernam, Sepang, Gombak, Kuala Langat, and Hulu Selangor, before the grand closing in Klang in October.
Previously, Rizam announced that GRS 2.0 adoptive projects would involve the construction, repair and maintenance of infrastructure, with a focus on upgrading damaged facilities to improve public safety.
GRS was launched to foster unity and a sense of community among Selangor residents.
In its first edition launched in February 2024, the GRS tour kicked off in Hulu Selangor and ended in Gombak.
