SEPANG, June 10 — All locations visited under the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor (GRS) 2.0 tour are personally inspired by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah to help uplift the local community’s economy.
State executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail said this differs from the first iteration of GRS, where His Highness visited various locations to observe overall development, including education and other related aspects.
"That was why the programme (GRS 1.0) lasted quite long, about three days and two nights.
“In GRS 2.0, it is more focused on His Highness’ initiative. He wants to implement initiatives that can help local communities, improve the economy and uplift living standards. That is why His Highness selected several suitable locations for development,” he told the media during the Sepang leg of GRS 2.0 today.
Earlier, Rizam, together with community leaders, accompanied the Raja Muda on the tour and assisted with briefings at each location.
Tengku Amir began the tour with breakfast with the community at Dapur Warisan in Kampung Bagan Lalang, before visiting a recreational facility in the village.

His Highness then visited the Kampung Jelutong Indah jetty in Sungai Pelek, which serves as a local fishermen’s jetty as well as a site for recreational activities and an alternative route to Negeri Sembilan.
Rizam added that the Raja Muda has consented to allocate funding for the upgrading of the recreational site in Kampung Bagan Lalang and the jetty in Kampung Jelutong Indah.
Both infrastructure projects will receive an allocation of RM500,000 each and will be implemented by Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation) or MBI.
“This allocation is part of GRS 2.0 provided by the state government together with His Highness. The Raja Muda is the one who proposes and consents, and we will implement it.
“The execution will be carried out by Yayasan MBI as the implementing agency,” he said.
Previously, Rizam said GRS 2.0 would introduce the adopted project initiative involving new construction, repairs, and maintenance of infrastructure, with a focus on identifying damaged public facilities.
GRS, introduced in 2024, is organised to strengthen unity, community systems, and social relations in Selangor.
