SHAH ALAM, April 21 — Selangor’s RM131 million Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package, introduced in response to global economic uncertainties, reflects the state government’s commitment to ensuring resident and industry well-being, said state executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato’ Ng Suee Lim.
He added that the initiative, announced by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari last week, aims to mitigate the impact of the global energy crisis and West Asia geopolitical tensions on the state’s economy.
“This initiative demonstrates Selangor’s proactive approach in protecting residents, businesses and industries during a period of global economic uncertainty.
“The stimulus package is among the first of its kind to be introduced by a state government in Malaysia to address economic pressures caused by global events.
“The state will channel assistance to sectors most affected by rising costs and economic challenges to ensure businesses and services can continue operating smoothly,” Ng told Media Selangor on the sidelines of the Tautan Muhibah event organised by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, here yesterday.

On April 16, Amirudin announced Phase 1 of the RM131 million stimulus package aimed at strengthening the state’s economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
Under the plan, the state government will distribute RM100 Kita Selangor vouchers to 50,000 households for six months to aid living cost pressures, while free meals will be provided to students in 873 schools statewide from August.
Ng said the stimulus package also includes financial support for contractors under KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM), whose waste collection trucks are not eligible for federal diesel subsidies.
“The support ensures waste collection activities can continue according to schedule and that cleanliness in residential areas is maintained,” Ng explained.
