SHAH ALAM, April 3 — Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar today praised the state on its Speed Selangor policy, which expedites and eases local authorities’ development approvals process.
He also highlighted Selangor’s record RM3.02 billion revenue last year.
“Congratulations to Menteri Besar (Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari’s) leadership and the Selangor administrative team. The performance for 2025 is extraordinary.
“Revenue reached RM3.02 billion. This isn’t a frivolous figure, but the highest record in Selangor’s history. Since my time in Selangor, this state has always been in the billionaire’s club,” Shamsul Azri said during the Selangor leg of the Madani Loyalty Tour at Dewan Raja Muda Musa in Section 7 here today.
In addition to over 2,000 state civil servants, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajudin were also present at the event.
During the event, Amirudin and Shamsul Azri launched the “I Love Malaysia Wave” initiative, which is an integrated approach to foster the people’s love for the country.

Meanwhile, Shamsul Azri urged civil servants in Selangor to be economical, in line with the federal government’s recent measures.
He said these measures must be applied at all levels to avoid wasting electricity, have fewer in-person gatherings, and reduce non-essential overseas trips.
“It’s similar to when the government decided there wouldn’t be Aidilfitri open houses this year; it doesn’t mean we’re not celebrating Raya, but we do so together and in moderation.
“This is also symbolic solidarity for our less fortunate Muslim brethren in Gaza, Palestine,” Shamsul Azri added.
Yesterday, Putrajaya announced energy control measures for all government premises, including a directive to set air-conditioner thermostats to no lower than 24ºC.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof reportedly said civil servants would be allowed to wear climate-appropriate clothing.
