SHAH ALAM, Feb 24 — In the spirit of sharing fortune and togetherness, Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI is continuing its tradition of distributing breaking-of-fast meals with an allocation of approximately RM4 million under this year’s Ihya’ Ramadan programme.
The foundation's head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the programme is among the main initiatives carried out annually as part of efforts to reach out to the community and facilitate fast-breaking.
“The distribution of fast-breaking meals is an annual tradition consistently implemented by Yayasan MBI every Ramadan, and it forms part of this year’s Ihya’ Ramadan programme,” he told Media Selangor yesterday.
Azri added that 600 food packs are distributed every Monday to Friday at Bangunan Darul Ehsan.

“We also provide an extra 400 food packs every Wednesday at the State Secretariat Building to meet the needs of recipients at that location,” he said.
The programme had previously been carried out at several other government buildings and educational institutions to extend its benefits to more recipients.
However, Azri said that time constraints and a shortage of personnel have led to its implementation now being focused on just two locations.
“Previously, we implemented it at other government buildings and educational institutions, but time constraints and manpower limitations have resulted in us focusing on only two locations, namely Bangunan Darul Ehsan and the State Secretariat Building,” he said.
Meanwhile, Yayasan MBI is also involved in organising programmes at Ramadan bazaars, including the distribution of digital coupons in collaboration with the PLATS platform, further increasing its daily commitments throughout the month.
