SHAH ALAM, Feb 9 — The Kinrara constituency continued its tradition of community welfare during the Chinese New Year celebrations with a rice collection and distribution programme at the Kinrara Service Centre.
The annual program aims to assist those in need while strengthening ties among multi-ethnic communities through social solidarity and care.
Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han said the initiative reflects his ongoing commitment to ensuring public welfare remains a priority, regardless of race or age.
“This program is organised every year as a symbol of community togetherness. Although held during Chinese New Year, the values it carries are universal: helping and caring for one another,” Ng said in a video posted on social media.

He added that this year’s programme also received support from the Women’s Welfare Organisation (PEKAWANIS), which helped facilitate the collection and distribution of rice to recipients.
“This collaboration proves that charitable efforts can be carried out more effectively when the community works together,” he said.
Ng noted that the way the programme delivers its message has evolved with the times, using digital platforms and creative content to reach younger audiences.
“Even though the delivery style has changed, the message remains the same: to foster a culture of giving and strengthen community unity across generations in DUN Kinrara,” he said.
