SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 — Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast in Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang until 10am today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has also issued similar warnings for Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, as well as several districts in Perak, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Sabah.
According to MetMalaysia, a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are indications of heavy rain with intensity exceeding 20 millimetres per hour, expected to persist for more than an hour.
The warning is a short-term alert, valid for a maximum of six hours for each issuance.
Members of the public are advised to refer to MetMalaysia’s official website, follow its social media channels, and download the myCuaca application to obtain the latest and most accurate weather information.
