SHAH ALAM, Sept 11 — Three districts in Selangor — Sepang, Hulu Langat and Petaling — are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 10 am.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said on Facebook that similar weather conditions were also forecast throughout Kuala Lumpur, Perlis and Penang, as well as several areas in Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Sarawak.
The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm an hour that are occurring or expected to persist for more than an hour.
Thunderstorm warnings are short-term alerts valid for up to six hours for each issuance.
The public is advised to refer to the MetMalaysia website and its social media channels, as well as the myCuaca app, for the latest verified information.
