SHAH ALAM, Dec 29 — Prasarana Malaysia Bhd is ready to offer its expertise to the state government to expand the rail transport network through the Kita Selangor Rail project.

Its Shah Alam Line chief operating officer Mohd Ariffin Idris said they have a strong foundation and extensive experience in the rail industry, including their involvement in operating the Jabodebek LRT in Indonesia.

“Prasarana has more than 30 years of high-level expertise in the public transport industry. In fact, our staff also possess their respective skills, and these should not be wasted.

“For Selangor’s planning, Malaysia already has the experts. I am confident that Prasarana is ready to collaborate to ensure the success of this development plan,” he said during the get-together with Selangor media practitioners today.

During the tabling of the 2025 Selangor Budget in November last year, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari announced that the Kita Selangor Rail project would be constructed along a 211km route, starting from Sabak Bernam, passing through Sepang, and extending to Negeri Sembilan.

Later in July, he said the project's development process had entered the phase of exploring financing strategies and identifying suitable investment partners.

Amirudin added that this phase is crucial to ensure the implementation of the integrated rail network is carried out sustainably and delivers maximum benefits to the people.

The Kita Selangor Rail project is the state government’s long-term plan to strengthen the public transport network in Selangor.
