KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 — The state’s transport network will be expanded more comprehensively, with a strong emphasis on ensuring user safety, particularly for pedestrians.
State executive councillor for trade, investment, and mobility Ng Sze Han said the administration’s efforts go beyond providing services like the Smart Selangor Bus and demand-responsive transit (DRT) vans, as it also aims to improve connectivity in commercial areas.
“I hope to receive sufficient allocation, not just to supply bus and DRT services, but also to create more routes, as these initiatives have received encouraging public response.
“We want to build a wider network, for instance, by connecting every location. Pedestrians are also a priority, and their safety will be enhanced.
"Hopefully, next year’s allocation will further strengthen the mobility sector,” he told Media Selangor.
This year, the state government allocated RM20 million to optimise the Smart Selangor Bus and DRT services, including initiatives to add new zones and expand the implementation concept.
The 2026 Selangor Budget will be tabled by Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari on Friday (November 14) at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly.
Last week, he said next year’s budget will prioritise the implementation of new programmes focused on education and poverty eradication to ensure the people continue to progress in line with the state’s development.
The 2026 Selangor Budget is also being formulated through a comprehensive approach that balances economic growth with the welfare of its citizens.
