KLANG, Sept 30 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has extended his congratulations to the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah for his upcoming wedding on Thursday (October 2).
He hopes the marriage will bring lasting happiness and further strengthen the royal household.
“For the people of Selangor, this is indeed very good news. We hope His Highness will be blessed with a happy family life and continue to contribute initiatives and leadership in serving the state as Raja Muda,” Amirudin said at a press conference after the launch of the Pulau Indah Power Plant (PIPP) today.
He also thanked the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK), the police, and other relevant agencies for their roles in ensuring that preparations ran smoothly ahead of the royal ceremony.
“Regarding security, we have done our very best. I would like to thank the police, MBDK, and others who have made these efforts possible. A rehearsal was also held yesterday, so we expect the ceremony to proceed smoothly,” Amirudin said.
At the rehearsal, the procession, spanning approximately 650 metres, commenced at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery and proceeded to Istana Alam Shah.
It was accompanied by the 25th Royal Malay Regiment as the royal escort, with the resonant beats of the Istana Diraja Selangor’s kompang ensemble.
It is understood that 11 cannon shots will be discharged on the actual wedding day as a symbolic gesture to mark the conclusion of the wedding ceremony.
MBDK has been carrying out beautification works around the royal palace, including road upgrades, landscaping and decorative lighting along main routes, to welcome the royal procession.
The reception and banquet to celebrate the nuptials of Tengku Amir Shah to Cik Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz will be held at Balairung Seri and Balai Santapan Diraja, Istana Alam Shah, on October 22.
