SHAH ALAM, Jan 8 — The Dirgahayu Cinta (Enduring Love) exhibition, which showcases moments from Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah and Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz’s wedding, will be open to the public from tomorrow to May 31 at Sultan Alam Shah Museum here.
The exhibition allows visitors to witness the splendour of Selangor’s Royal wedding traditions, following the marriage solemnisation ceremony in October.
State executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said the exhibition features photographs and key moments from the royal wedding, beginning with the “merisik” and engagement ceremonies, followed by the marriage solemnisation, and culminating in the newlyweds attending an event with the people.
“This exhibition was inspired by the Raja Muda himself, with the aim of allowing the public to view the Royal wedding up close while introducing the beauty of Selangor’s Royal customs,” he said.
Items on display include the tepak sirih (betel leaf and nut tray), wedding cushions, a replica of the wedding cake, and ceremonial decorations such as bunga singgahsana, ceremonial arches, and bunga manggar.
“The exhibition recreates the festive atmosphere of the Royal wedding journey and is curated in a structured manner that reflects the dignity and heritage of Selangor’s Royal traditions,” Borhan said.
He added that the exhibition is a state government initiative to preserve and document Royal heritage for future generations, while strengthening Selangor’s cultural identity and enhancing the role of museums as centres of culture and knowledge.
The Royal couple were married on October 2 last year in a ceremony officiated by Selangor Mufti Datuk Anhar Opir and witnessed by Tengku Panglima Raja Selangor Tengku Ahmad Shah Alhaj and Tengku Indera Pahlawan Diraja Tengku Datuk Setia Putra Alhaj.
As part of the 1.2km royal procession, Tengku Amir Shah travelled in a Rolls-Royce from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery in Klang to the Royal Mosque of Istana Alam Shah.
