SUBANG, Jan 22 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has allocated RM1.68 million for the Back To School programme this year.

Its corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the allocation will come in the form of vouchers, which are expected to benefit up to 16,800 students from primary schools.

"These school vouchers are for 56 state constituencies and will be distributed to 300 recipients in each constituency who qualify and fulfil the conditions.

"As such, the allocation has been provided to each constituency, and we expect the voucher distribution to complete by this coming March," he said.

Ahmad Azri handed over two laptops to formerly-conjoined twins Ahmad Rosli and Muhammad Rosli, who came to nationwide attention in 2001 and underwent separation surgery in 2002, at Kampung Tengah Puchong yesterday.

Last year MBI allocated RM30 million to realise a number of programmes, including Data Internet Selangor, Tuisyen Rakyat Selangor, transportation rebates to vaccine centres, Back To School, and aid for Deepavali and Christmas.

The allocation is not only limited to food baskets and people, but also encompasses the environment, animals, and religious programmes.
