SUBANG JAYA, 27 Sept: The organisation of the Lantern Festival 2015 fosters racial unity with the presence of many people, regardless of race and religious faith.
The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Yang Dipertua, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, said that he encourages events like this because it clearly benefits all parties.
"The lantern festival is for all races in Subang Jaya.
"Although it (a race) is in the form of red, green and yellow, what is important is the light when shining regardless of colour, but it is important for all in this dark area," he said on September 26.
He said that the event clearly succeeded in uniting all races and the situation is a symbol of harmony in this country.
"This lantern festival is lively and it is hoped that it will be even more cheerful in the future," he said.
The Lantern Festival 2015 is organised with the Subang Jaya Assemblyman's Office and the Kelana Jaya MP, and it has ran for the past six years.
Nor Hisham together with the Subang Jaya Assemblyman, Hannah Yeoh, and other attendees witnessed performances in conjunction with the festival that took part at Lama Sukan USJ1.
