SUBANG JAYA, 27 Sept: The Lantern Festival 2015 that took place in a lively manner with the presence of all races was cheerful and to be proud of despite the hazy weather.
This did not stop the locals from crowding the USJ 1 Sports Site to mingle and enjoy the festival of lights, entertainment and food.
The Subang Jaya Assemblyman, Hannah Yeoh, said that the festival this time was organised in conjunction with the Subang Jaya Assemblyman's Office and the Kelana Jaya MP, and has been held for the past six years.
"It is the only lantern festival in Subang Jaya that is held on a big scale.
"Every year, it gets response. This year saw the participation of over 1,000 when all goodie bags were fully distributed," she said in September 26.
She said that the festival this year is being held for the first time at the covered court that was built by the state government last year.
She said that the performances included performances from various races and ages.
"We had performances from the elderly and kindergarten children. For the festival this time, we also distributed free masks to be public," she said.
