SHAH ALAM, Feb 16 — Heavy rain since 7pm has led to flash floods in several areas in Kampung Melayu Subang here, with waters rising up to 0.5m.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call about the incident at 8.30pm.
“Five personnel from the Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the location.
“However, waters are receding as the downpour is getting lighter. No evacuations have been made nor have temporary relief centres been opened,” Mukhlis said in a statement tonight.
Previously, the Meteorological Department forecast heavy rain across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya up to 9pm today.
