SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — Flash floods hit several areas in Shah Alam after persistent heavy rain early today, inundating several major roads and disrupting traffic.

Posts by users on the social media platform Threads showed flooding at several locations, including Section 13, Setia Alam, and Section 22.

Threads user @slyuza reported flooding in front of the Giant hypermarket in Section 13 and urged motorists to exercise caution when travelling through the area.

Another user, @amiruddinsya_, reported at 5am that the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) between Setia Alam and Shah Alam had been closed in both directions due to flooding.

Meanwhile, @nazriahm.ad reported at 3.30am that the highway near Section 13 remained closed, with traffic congestion expected during the morning rush hour.

@faraamcl shared an update on traffic congestion at the entrance to the NKVE (E1) heading towards the Shah Alam Toll Plaza as commuters made their way to work this morning.

In its latest update on X (formerly Twitter), PLUS Malaysia said the route from the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) to the Shah Alam Toll Plaza was closed due to flash floods and advised motorists to use alternative routes.

However, all lanes on the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) at the Shah Alam interchange, from Seafield towards Setia Alam, have reopened after being closed since last night.

Motorists are advised to remain cautious.
