SHAH ALAM, Oct 31 — The state government is reviewing several details to finalise a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, with the agreement expected to be signed soon.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the basic understanding has been agreed upon, but several matters considered sensitive still needed to be refined with the party’s leadership.
The implementation of a CSA at the federal level served as a reference and made it easier to establish cooperation between the state government and Bersatu.
“Please wait a little longer. Such an agreement is already in place at the federal level, making it easier for us to implement it in Selangor.
"This is indeed the way to ensure cooperation or an understanding at the federal level. We have been negotiating with Bersatu, and if we reach an agreement, they will support us en bloc (as a whole) while remaining in the opposition.
“The basic framework and principles are already in place, but there may be a few details involving sensitive matters that need to be taken into account,” he said.
Amirudin was speaking to the media after attending the 22nd Malaysia Games (SUKMA) and Para SUKMA's appreciation ceremony at Dewan Raja Muda Musa in Section 7 last night.
On Thursday (October 29), the MADANI government signed a CSA with 13 MPs, comprising six Bersatu representatives, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, and six Independent MPs who are former Bersatu members.
The Bersatu MPs include its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (Pagoh); Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin (Putrajaya); Datuk Ali Biju (Saratok); Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah (Langkawi); Mohd Nazri Abu Hassan (Merbok); and Datuk Azman Nasrudin (Padang Serai).
Under the agreement, they agree to support the administration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim until the end of the current Parliamentary term, including the 2027 Budget.
The agreement also covers commitments to institutional reforms, including proposals to limit the Prime Minister’s tenure to two terms and separate the roles of the Attorney-General and the Public Prosecutor.
