SHAH ALAM, Oct 28 — A motorcyclist died after being run over by a trailer on Jalan Pintasan Pelabuhan Barat, Klang, at around 9am today, said South Klang police chief Lim Jit Huey.
He said the 37-year-old local man was declared dead at the scene due to severe injuries. His body was taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for postmortem.
“Preliminary investigations found that the victim is believed to have collided with the right side of a four-wheel-drive vehicle, which was travelling in the emergency lane. The impact caused him to fall into the right lane, where he was run over by a trailer in the next lane.
“The victim was riding alone from Klang towards Westport. The drivers of the four-wheel-drive vehicle and the trailer were unhurt,” he said in a statement today.
Lim urged people with information on the incident to contact investigating officer Mohamad Mustakin Najri at 012-582 6983 or their local police station.
He also advised road users against using the emergency lane as a shortcut and urged them to remain vigilant, focus on driving, and obey traffic laws.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
