KUALA LANGAT, Oct 24 — Kampung Tanjong Sepat has received RM1.5 million to upgrade its public facilities thanks to it being chosen as a Madani Adopted Village, in conjunction with its centenary this year, said state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah.
He added that the funds will cover the construction of a new hall, a square, public toilets, and playgrounds to improve residents’ comfort.
“May programmes like this be conducted in villages that still need public facilities like open halls and squares,” the Tanjong Sepat assemblyman told Media Selangor when met after launching the Madani Adopted Village and School announcement ceremony in Kampung Tanjong Sepat here today.

SK Sungai Kelambu was chosen as a Madani Adopted School and received RM100,000 from the Education Services Commission to upgrade its computer lab, internet access, library, Design and Technology (RBT) Room, canteen, and meeting rooms.
Meanwhile, Kampung Tanjong Sepat village head Hashim Abdul Majid said this year is a lucky one for the neighbourhood as it is its second year as a Madani Adopted Village.

“We are very grateful to be chosen again as a Madani Adopted Village. This village was established in 1926 and it is the 100th year this year.
“We plan to complete public infrastructure and facilities even further. This hall will also be rented out to residents at reasonable rates,” Hashim said.
The Madani Adopted Village initiative was launched under Budget 2024 as a way for the government to improve basic facilities in rural neighbourhoods.
