SHAH ALAM, Sept 28 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin have expressed their sadness over the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, wife of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Their Royal Highnesses also extended their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that they would be granted strength and fortitude during this difficult time.
“His Royal Highness also knew the siblings of the late Dr Siti Hasmah, who was born in Klang, Selangor, and is deeply saddened by the loss.
“Their Royal Highnesses pray that Allah bestows His mercy upon her soul, forgives her sins, and places her among the faithful. Al-Fatihah,” the Selangor Royal Office said in a Facebook post.
Dr Siti passed away at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur this morning at the age of 100.
She is survived by her husband and seven children.
