SHAH ALAM, Sept 21 — The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) issued seven compounds and carried out five seizure actions against unlicensed hawkers during an enforcement operation at several locations around Klang.
The monitoring operation was carried out by its Licensing Department together with the Enforcement Department at several hawker hotspots.
Seven unlicensed hawkers were identified at Komplek Sukan Pandamaran, with one seizure carried out while six others were ordered to stop trading and leave the area.
It also carried out a seizure against an unlicensed toy seller operating at an entertainment site in the area.
Meanwhile, four unlicensed hawkers at Tamn Rakyat Andalas had their business items seized under the Hawkers By laws (MPK) 2007.
At Lorong Selamat, Sungai Udang, seven unlicensed hawkers were issued compounds under the same laws.
MBDK also inspected applications for the renewal of hawker licenses for Session 2 at Jalan Sambau and found that no business equipment had been left at the location.
“Inspection regarding the Session 2 hawker license renewal application found no business equipment left at the site,” it said in a Facebook post.
MBDK added that it will continue monitoring and taking enforcement action to ensure hawker activities are conducted in an orderly manner, with valid licenses and in compliance with regulations.
The council also reminded traders to obtain valid licenses before conducting business activities.
