KLANG, Sept 20 — Nine of the 14 premises inspected by the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) along Jalan Pos Baru were found to be operating without valid licences.

It said that only five premises had licences when inspections were carried out during a joint enforcement operation with its Licensing Department targeting foreign traders and unlicensed premises yesterday.

The local authority issued 12 seizure action inventories for various offences following the operation.

“Two Notices of Intention to Revoke were issued for offences involving foreign workers without permits and allowing foreigners to look after the premises.

“Two more compounds were issued for operating a business without a licence and causing obstructions in public places,” MBDK said in a Facebook post.

The inspection also found that live chicken sales and karaoke entertainment activities were being carried out without valid licences.

Monitoring and enforcement action will continue periodically to ensure traders comply with the regulations in place.

“Traders are reminded to obtain a valid business licence before carrying out any activities to avoid enforcement action,” it said.
