SHAH ALAM, Sept 19 — Five food premises in Southville City were ordered to close following a cleanliness inspection by the Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) on September 11.
The council said a further 15 compounds and 21 cleaning order notices were issued during the integrated operation involving inspections of 22 out of 43 listed premises.
According to MPSepang, the operation was carried out by its Environmental Health Department in collaboration with the Building Control Department, Licensing Department, Enforcement Department and Commissioner of Buildings (COB).
“A total of 83 personnel from MPSepang’s technical departments were involved in the operation, which aimed to ensure that food premises were clean and safe while complying with the relevant legal provisions,” it said in a Facebook post.
It said the operation was also conducted to ensure food premises operators comply with the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171) and the relevant MPSepang 2007 by-laws.
MPSepang said monitoring and enforcement efforts will continue to be intensified to ensure food premises operators comply with the requirements set by the local authority.
“The cooperation of all parties is also needed to ensure food premises remain clean, safe and comfortable for the community,” it said.
