KLANG, Sept 17 — The state government has allocated between RM10 million and RM20 million over two years to address strata housing and ownership issues in Selangor, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He added that the 2025-2026 allocation will ensure issues faced by owners would be managed more effectively.
“... We need quite a long time because of data entry,” he said in his speech at the Selangor Strata Community Empowerment Initiatives Presentation Ceremony in Wyndham Acmar hotel here today.
“The Selangor government is ready to help but we need the cooperation of all parties so this strata ownership issue can be resolved well,” he explained, adding that the problem needs a comprehensive approach, especially as it involves developers’ failures and negligence.
He said part of the problem is the previous administration’s weaknesses that gave certain developers space to neglect their duties, adding “some of them were negligent, indolent, and took advantage or ran away from their responsibilities, and in the end strata ownership has become a huge issue”.
He expressed hope that cooperation between the state government, agencies concerned, developers, and strata communities may give rise to more effective solutions in this term.
“We hope that in this term (we can) provide quicker solutions and better resolutions to strata ownership-related matters,” Amirudin said.
