SHAH ALAM, Sept 16 – The renovation project for the new Pasar Awam Baharu Seri Kembangan, valued at over RM16 million, has commenced this month and is expected to be completed within two years.
Seri Kembangan assemblyman Wong Siew Ki said that the project which began this month would provide more comfortable market facilities for traders and local residents.
“This project, valued at over RM16 million, started in September and is expected to take two years to complete,” she said in a Facebook post.
Wong added that the project's groundbreaking ceremony was witnessed by Puchong Member of Parliament Yeo Bee Yin, Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) councillors, representatives from the market hawkers' association, and MBSJ officials.
Also present were the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and the Director of the MBSJ Engineering Department.
Wong hopes the construction of the new market proceeds according to plan and results in a facility that is more comfortable and a source of pride for the residents of Seri Kembangan.
“Let us witness the progress of the construction together, step by step, until the completion of a new, more comfortable market that the people of Seri Kembangan can be proud of,” she said.
