SHAH ALAM, Sept 15 — Three men were arrested for allegedly attempting to steal cables near Jalan Reko, Kajang.
Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said police received a complaint that several men were believed to have pulled cables from a manhole at about 4am on Monday (Sept 14)
“While trying to stop the act, several individuals acted aggressively towards the complainant and his friend before fleeing the location.
“Following the incident, a police report was made at 6.27am the same day,” he said, Kosmo Online reported.
The Kajang district police headquarters (IPD) criminal investigation division arrested the three male suspects, aged between 25 and 46, during an operation conducted between 1pm and 4:30pm.
Naazron said two of the suspects are local men with previous records related to crime and drugs while the third suspect is a foreign national.
“The police also seized several items believed to be related to the case including two cars and are still tracking down other suspects who are believed to be involved in the incident.
“The two suspects who tested positive for drugs are also being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
All three suspects will be brought to the Kajang Court tomorrow (Sept 15) for a remand application to assist with the investigation.
