SHAH ALAM, Oct 16 — Services on the Kajang Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line were delayed this morning following an attempted cable theft and track intrusion between the Phileo Damansara and Pusat Bandar Damansara stations.
Rapid KL said the incident was detected at about 5.30 am, prompting a temporary power shutdown in the affected area in accordance with established operational and safety procedures.
It said the measure was necessary to allow auxiliary police personnel to conduct inspections and search for suspects while ensuring the safety of passengers and staff.
"This was also to ensure the safety of passengers, staff and the track area, as well as the smooth operation of train services.
"Power was restored at 6.32 am after the necessary measures had been completed," it said in a statement.
Alternative train services were provided during the inspection and search operations to ensure passengers could continue their journeys safely.
Meanwhile, Rapid KL stressed that it viewed cable theft incidents seriously, as they could disrupt train services and compromise the safety of passengers and staff.
"A police report has been lodged at the Brickfields District Police Headquarters to facilitate further investigations.
"Rapid KL will continue to cooperate with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to assist investigations and prevent similar incidents from recurring," it said.
