KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 — Police are appealing to witnesses of a deadly accident involving a motorcycle and a lorry at Km13.1 of the Grand Saga Highway yesterday, in which the 23-year-old male motorcyclist was killed.
Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said preliminary investigations found that the victim, who was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Kajang, is believed to have lost control before falling onto the road.
“A lorry that was moving straight ahead could not avoid the victim in time and ran over him, causing his death at the scene,” he said in a statement today.
He said the lorry driver has yet to lodge a police report, and that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving recklessly or dangerously, causing death.
He urged witnesses or anyone with information, including people with videos or dashcam footage of the crash, to contact investigating officer Nur Faezah Mohd Zakria at 012-326 8496.
Naazron advised road users to be responsible, comply with rules speed limits, and drive with care.
