SHAH ALAM, Sept 14 — Three vehicle owners were issued compounds after they were caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) illegally dumping rubbish at public areas in Klang.
The Royal Klang City Council (MBDK) said the offences were detected through its CCTV monitoring system in Taman Sentosa, Bukit Kuda and Bandar Bukit Tinggi.
In a statement, MBDK said the vehicle owners were subsequently identified through follow-up investigations conducted by the local authority.
“All three vehicle owners admitted to the offence and were subsequently issued compounds,” it said.
In Taman Sentosa, MBDK said a vehicle was caught on CCTV dumping domestic waste on August 2, with the enforcement team later tracing its owner.
“The owner was subsequently issued a compound under By-law 4 of the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Collection, Removal and Disposal of Refuse By-laws 2007.”
In a separate incident in Bukit Kuda, another vehicle was caught committing a similar offence, with the owner later identified and admitting to the act.
MBDK said the vehicle owner was also issued a compound under the same provision.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage recorded in Bandar Bukit Tinggi on August 4 helped MBDK identify the owner of a vehicle caught dumping rubbish in a public area.
The owner admitted to the offence and was issued a compound, while also being advised against repeating the act.
“MBDK will continue to intensify enforcement through CCTV monitoring and vehicle searches to ensure the cleanliness of the city is consistently maintained.”
