KLANG, Sept 12 — Twelve entrepreneurs with disabilities were the stars of an inclusive business platform provided by GM Klang Wholesale City, which aims to help them generate income and expand their customer base.

The initiative is the third collaboration between GM Klang and Koperasi Usahawan MyOKU Selangor Bhd (MyOKU), with Bazar Usahawan OKU being held until tomorrow in conjunction with the Terang Kentara programme.

GM Klang brand communication executive Nurhani Yasmeen Mohd Zainan said the programme gives priority and opportunities to the disabled community to conduct business in a more comfortable environment.

“The platform at GM Klang is designed to encompass all levels of society inclusively.

“Besides business spaces, we support the movement of entrepreneurs and visitors with disabilities with user-friendly facilities such as spacious lot areas, special parking facilities, and ramp access,” she said.

She added that the facilities support GM Klang’s role as a community-friendly business hub accessible to people from all walks of life.

GM Klang is aiming to draw more than 5,000 visitors to the event this weekend.

Meanwhile, MyOKU chairman Muhamad Asyraf Mahat expressed appreciation for continued support from GM Klang and the Royal Klang City Council’s (MBDK) Licensing Department, which has helped facilitate business permit matters for its entrepreneurs.

He said MyOKU, which was registered in 2020, is committed to providing entrepreneurship skills training, continuous guidance and support systems for people with disabilities, asnaf, single mothers, and the B40 community.

“Cooperating parties also intend to organise a Disabled Community Sports programme this year in conjunction with the upcoming International Day of Persons with Disabilities in December,” Asyraf said.
